There's a fun NW out in the water today. Buoys started picking it up last night and it's peaking this today with head high sets in north county SD/OC, overhead in south county SD, and waist high in south OC.
It's pretty lined up and the tide is high so it may be best to wait for low tide when the reefs and points start working. Weather is going to be great today too with sunny skies and light winds. The current swell holds until tomorrow morning.
Currently we have a high tide of 6' at 9am, dropping to -1' at 4pm, and back up slightly to 0' at sunset. Should be a fun day of surf if you pay attention to the tides. So enough of the pleasentries- that's the good news. The bad news is that there isn't much on the charts for the coming 7 days. There's a little storm off our coast which may send some waist high+ surf towards Friday and MAYBE a slight chance of showers on Saturday night, but that's a pretty weak forecast that I'm not buying. After that it's sunny skies and flat surf for the weekend and early next week.
Charts do though show some more activity in the north Pacific so we may finally get some showers towards the middle of next week and another head high NW. So in the meantime, get that yardwork done, take the girl out to lunch, and get swept up in Tebow mania this weekend.
