The overcast and cool conditions hang around the next few days and there's even a slight chance of weak showers. Not enough to make you carry an umbrella with you but just enough to probably not want to wash your car.
Tides are 3' at sunrise, down to -0.5' at 11am, and back up to 3.5' right before sunset. Water temps are still 57.
After a lackluster beginning to our work week, things start to get interesting. The SW should pick up in size tomorrow and the OC should have some shoulder high sets with chest high sets down here in north county SD. We also get some head high NW on Thursday and there could be some fun combo swell in most locations the 2nd half of this week.
BUT... we do have a storm headed our way. Nothing major but we should get 1/3" of rain and SW wind late Thursday into Friday. So what does all this mean?! We should have semi-clean conditions late Wednesday when that new SW kicks into gear and by Thursday morning we'll have some NW swell to greet it. Hopefully the rain/wind will hold off until Thursday night and we'll get to enjoy these two swells before it turns to a mess around here. By Friday we have overhead storm surf.
The storm should blow through by Saturday and we're left with some dying chest high sets on Sunday from the NW. After that it's looking pretty small for the beginning of the work week from the north Pacific.
The southern hemisphere isn't doing much better as there's only 1 storm on the charts and models show it dying just as it reaches our swell window. It's also forecasted to move east to west (not pointed north at us) so I don't expect much from it. If it somehow miraculously holds together, we may get chest high surf towards the middle of March.
Long story short... make sure to get in the water late Wednesday or first thing Thursday before the storm hits!
