Clips of the Week- Extreme Sports Are Extreme
Looking for something to do while you wait for the surf to pick up?! Look no further as my boy Julian Wilson goes bonkers at Lowers. Can't believe this guy isn't in the top 5. Lots of power, tricks with the best of them, and better style then current world #1. Of course watching this clip will make you jonesing to go surf and the waves are flat so pick your poison.
Well, if surfing isn't an option today, then try it's offspring and go skate. If you're a little intimated by the rats at Alga Norte or coming face to face with Tony and Shaun at the Y, downhill is always an option. Like James Kelly who looks to be just outside of Mammoth. My favorite run is the one at the 2'13" mark. That is until he gets speed wobbles at 2'25"... Just giving you a heads up. Cover your eyes.
And speaking of the Sierras, hopefully the forthcoming El Nino this winter will drop a doozy on Tahoe- like the 82'-83' blowout with almost 700 inches of snow (that's about 60' for those of you keeping track). Burton's thrown out a little promo vid of old school Jeremy Jones and new school Mikkel Bang in case your tired of all the warm weather around here.
So there you have it. The most extreme sports on the planet for your viewing pleasure. Next week I'll have glacier rollerblading, 4 wheeler shopping mall demolition, and airplane pogo sticking.
