Clip of the Day: The Kids Are Alright

After Kolohe Andino beat Dane Reynolds at the US Open, Kolohe is now my favorite surfer. Just kidding. But the kids are doing pretty well for themselves this summer. It's odd to think that Dane, Jordy Smith, Josh Kerr, etc. are the 'old' guard considering Kelly Slater is still winning events, but there's a heck of a lot of young kids like Luke Davis, Nat Young, Julian Wilson, Jack Freestone, Alejo Muniz, and Kolohe of course that are doing some mind bending stuff. Just check out Kolohe at Lowers a few weeks ago getting loopy on his red board and yellow wetsuit (it's actually from Dane's website so you have to scroll down his page past a couple videos to see Kolohe's clip).

Or if you want to see how the new Brazilian contingent is doing, then check out fellow Nike 6.0 rider Alejo Muniz in the clip above. Alejo needed a little R&R before starting the tour this year so he headed out to Africa to tune his turns. Seems like it worked.

BACK TO BALI from Julian Wilson on Vimeo.
And yet another Nike 6.0 team rider (do they have all the young guys locked up?) has got a good clip from Indo. That being Julian Wilson of course. Take a look at all 3 clips and you decide who's going to be the next world champ in 2042 (that's when I predict Slater is going to retire).
