Surf Check

We've had a good run of weather and waves lately as the weather has been kept in check finally and SW or NW swells have been showing up every few days on our shores.
Fun surf continued today as a combo NW/SW groundswell rolled through town- as well as high pressure keeping our weather perfect again- and most spots had chest high waves with shoulder high sets. Look for the NW to back off the next few days but a new SW will fill in tomorrow to keep us in chest high surf while spots towards the OC pull in more shoulder high waves.
Water temps have rebounded nicely with Newport seeing 58 degrees, O'side at 60, and down in SD it's back to 62. Tides the next few days are 4' at sunrise, down to 0' after lunch, and up to 4' again at sunset. Pretty easy to remember.
So when's this great weather going to end? We have one more day of temps in the 80's at the beaches then a weak cold front comes through our area on Friday. The mountains may see a stray shower but down here at the coast we'll just get clouds, cooler temps, and S winds. High pressure sets up again for the weekend for clear skies and temps in the low 70's.

As far as our surf goes, we have a roller coaster pattern setting up. After the SW fills in tomorrow, we have small NW windswell showing up for the weekend.
On it's heels late Sunday is yet another SW groundswell for chest high waves in SD and shoulder high waves towards the OC.
THEN... the NW windswell peaks towards the middle of next week for chest high sets here and shoulder high sets in SD.
THEN... (this is getting boring) we have another SW trying to take shape in the southern hemisphere that will arrive around 4/19 with more chest to shoulder high surf. The models a few days ago showed this storm being a beast but they have since backed off on that prediction. Regardless, it's good to see SW swells coming our way as spring is in full swing. In a nutshell, we'll have alternating NW/SW swells for the next 10 days, and mostly nice weather during that time with a shot of clouds right in the middle (i.e. Friday).
