Surf Check 3/23/11

What a busy week. All kinds of waves and weather happening. After that storm blew through on Monday, we were left with nice conditions yesterday with a fun NW/SW combo.

Today is more of the same with clean conditions and peaks up and down the beaches. Wind this afternoon is pretty manageable at 7mph from the SW. Tides are medium.
We do though have another shot of rain coming through this afternoon (the OC) and this evening (SD). Nothing like we had on Monday (close to 2")- this one should be less than 1/2". It may give us junky conditions in the morning but it won't be too bad. And there is another weak front on it's heels for about 1/4" on Thursday. And yet two more small weak fronts should make their way into southern California on Saturday evening and maybe towards Tuesday of next week.

Good news is that all these fronts/storms are kicking up some surf. Tomorrow afternoon should increase slightly from the NW and then it really goes up a few notches Friday night.

The swell hasn't hit the buoys yet but if models are correct, it could be double overhead in south SD, way overhead in north SD/OC and head high for south SD.
This one is still playing out and it will be interesting to see the buoy readings tomorrow afternoon. Make sure to check back at Twitter/NorthCountySurf to see what the latest is with this swell!
