Boardz N The Hood- Episode 5: Froth Level 11

What do you get when you combine a grom, 8 surfboards, more variety of surf in your hometown than you can shake a stick at, a sponsorship from Red Bull, and a froth level turned up to 11? Surfer Ryan Glenn. (The Red Bull part isn't true by the way but I wouldn't doubt it). Ryan will surf anything, anywhere, anytime. Board transfers at Tabletops on 9' + 4' soft tops? Check. Low tide Seaside on the boil surfing his 5'6" 'step up'? Check. Summer time shore pound at Tamarack on a hand shaped handplane? Check. Mushy Beacons on a retro 80's Bruce Jones? Check. There are no restrictions when you grow up in the 21st century of what you can and can't surf. If it catches waves (including bodysurfing) then it's game on. For Ryan, it's all about fun. And that's the way it should be. As Phil Edwards famously said "The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun. Must have been talking about Ryan.

Here's the scoop on Ryan and his quiver:

Ryan as you guessed is my son and he gets up earlier than I do now to surf. And gets home later too. It's almost impossible to drag him out of the surf. And that's the way it should be. What would you rather be doing? Emails and homework? Ha! Make sure to keep an eye out for more Boardz N The Hood this week as we wait out the quarantine!
