Sure looks like springtime out there. Low clouds, cool air temps, water is finally 62, a little bit of S wind, and some fun SW swell in the water. May Gray is in full effect. Today we have continuing SW swell for shoulder high sets in north SD, some head high sets in the OC, and some chest high sets in south SD as they're picking up a little NW down there too. Wind unfortunately is already 5mph from the SW.
Tides the next few days are 4' at sunrise, 0' around lunch, and back up to 5' at sunset. Water temps are slowly rising with the S wind this week pooling up the warm water on our shores and some spots are hitting 63 degrees already. The SW peaks today and is joined tomorrow by small waist to chest NW windswell. The 2nd half of the week looks a bit smaller but the weather cleans up slightly and we may see sunshine towards Thursday. Then a weak low pressure system sets up shop again and we've got more low clouds socking in the coast for the weekend and the beginning of next week.
On the surf front, we've got some NW windswell lining up for the weekend and hopefully if the models are right we'll have some head high sets with overhead sets in south SD.
The southern hemisphere is looking pretty quiet this week but we should have a couple storms flare up by the weekend for surf on our shores around the 12th. Until then, get the SW today, more NW this weekend, and deal with the May Gray!
